Share of domestic products among drugs registered in Russia reaches 80% in 2024 - deputy health minister

MOSCOW. Feb 11 (Interfax) - The share of domestic products among drugs registered in Russia neared 80% in 2024, Russian Deputy Health Minister Sergei Glagolev said.

"Nowadays, domestic products prevail in our registration, they accounted for around 80% of all drugs registered in due process last year," Glagolev said at a roundtable of the State Duma Health Committee on Tuesday.

Two-thirds of drugs available on the Russian pharmaceutical market, including reproduced drugs, are made locally. About a third of the market financial volume goes to domestic producers, given that innovative drugs account for a large share among registered drugs in monetary terms, he said.

The provision of technological sovereignty and the growth of innovative potential, including through the seamless transition of new products of the Health Ministry, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Federal Medical-Biological Agency to the healthcare system and production are among national tasks, which are being actively fulfilled, Glagolev said.
