Preliminary report on AZAL plane crash probe to be published in coming days - Kazakh transport minister
ASTANA. Feb 4 (Interfax) - A preliminary report detailing the investigation into the AZAL plane crash in Kazakhstan in December 2024 will be made public within the next few days, Kazakh Transport Minister Marat Karabayev said.
"Specialists are now at the final stage of their work. We expect the preliminary report [on the AZAL plane crash investigation] to be officially published on our website in the coming days," Karabayev said at a government briefing on Tuesday.
The work of the commission made up of specialists, including international ones, is now "in its final stages", he said.
"Specialists need time to complete what they have been doing. This work is very delicate and meticulous. The commission is working on a daily basis. We are now at the final stage," Karabayev said.
On December 25, 2024, an Embraer 190 aircraft en route from Baku to Grozny crashed near Kazakhstan's Aktau. The crash killed 38 people out of 67 aboard the plane. The aircraft headed to Aktau after several attempts to land in Grozny. It crashed within around three kilometers from the Aktau airport.
