Belarussian PM Golovchenko proposes creating single market for EAEU data

MINSK. Jan 31 (Interfax) - Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko has proposed forming a single data market in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

"One of the areas of our further cooperation should be the construction of a single Eurasian data market and, accordingly, pan-Eurasian data spaces for key areas to implement the four freedoms [freedom of movement of people, goods, services and capital]," Golovchenko said at the plenary session of the Digital Almaty 2025. Industrial Al: technologies for a new era forum.

Golovchenko said also called for setting clear guidelines for combining efforts on this issue.

Digital and technological sovereignty is important for every country, but achieving it for a single country is nearly impossible, Golovchenko said.

"The priority for the EAEU is not the development of each state separately, but close cooperation, complementarity and knowledge exchange. That is why mutually beneficial cooperation and the development of a single internal market of the EAEU are one of the main drivers of progress for our countries," he said.
