Russia extends ban on gasoline exports to all but producers until February

MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - The Russian government has decided to extend the ban on exporting gasoline from Russia until February 28, the secretariat of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told Interfax.

The ban on exporting gasoline from Russia is currently in effect until January 31, though it does not apply to producers. The exception will remain in place in February.

A ban on exporting gasoline from Russia was in effect from March 1 to August 31, 2024, and was suspended from May 20 until the end of July. The exception was for supplies from producers who processed over one million tonnes of oil in 2022, under intergovernmental agreements as part of indicative balances.

The ban was reintroduced from September 1 to December 31, 2024. In November last year, the resolution was amended, according to which the ban on exporting gasoline was extended until January 2025, though the exception was for exports from producers who processed over one million tonnes of oil in 2022.
