MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - The Russian embassy in the United States expresses deep condolences over the numerous casualties from the plane crash that occurred near Washington in late hours of January 29, when a military helicopter collided with a commercial aircraft en route to the U.S. capital from Wichita, Kansas, the embassy said.

"We learned with particular sadness from the White House that there were Russian citizens on board the plane. We are grateful to the American authorities, with whom we are in constant contact, for their words of support to the families of the victims and their willingness to help with the transfer of the remains to their homeland," the Russian embassy said on its Telegram channel.
