Sibagro to export compound feed to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan
TOMSK. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Sibagro plans to expand export markets for its compound feed, which already include Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and start shipping this product to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the Russian agribusiness group said in a press release.
The group is also considering working with China and Mongolia.
Shipments will be made from the Bogdanovich Compound Feed Plant in Sverdlovsk Region, which the group acquired in 2024. The plant has capacity to produce 330,000 tonnes of compound feed per year and plans to expand this figure by 20% to 396,000 tonnes, as well as increase premix production to 12,000 tonnes, the company said.
Sibagro acquired a 51% stake in the Bogdanovich plant at auction in March 2024 for 1.35 billion rubles. Previously this stake was owned by Sverdlovsk Region, Sibagro owned 25.07% and individuals held the remaining shares.
The plant, which opened in 1988, supplies up to 50% of the compound feed used in Sverdlovsk Region and also ships to other regions of Russia. It produces compound feed and other products for pigs, cattle, poultry, rabbits and fish.
Sibagro, a vertically integrated agribusiness group founded in Tomsk in 2000, has 14 livestock farms and meat processing plants in Russia's Ural, Siberia, Central and Far East federal districts.
