Top Russian gas producers revise obligations on 415 licenses in 2024
MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Russia's largest gas producers revised the deadlines for exploring and developing 415 hydrocarbon areas last year in line with government resolution No. 569 of May 3, 2024, the Natural Resources Ministry told Interfax.
"From May 3 to December 31, 2024, this right was exercised by vertically integrated companies PJSC Gazprom , PJSC Rosneft , PJSC Gazprom Neft and PJSC Novatek . These are our largest production companies. The right of deferral, as stated above, is not granted to all, but to those who make a real contribution to the development of the mineral resource base," the ministry said.
The most applications for deadline revisions were filed for licenses to areas in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk Region, Yakutia and Orenburg Region.
A Federal Mineral Resources Agency commission assessed a total of 894 field development projects in 2024, 455 of which called for rescheduling deadlines for carrying out work.
