TEMPO to invest 12 bln rubles in metalwork hub with port in Nizhnekamsk

KAZAN. Jan 29 (Interfax) - TEMPO Group (formerly Tatelektromash), an industrial group in Tatarstan controlled by Fail Sharifullin, plans to invest 12 billion rubles in the construction of a metalwork logistics hub outside the city of Nizhnekamsk, the regional Industry and Trade Ministry reported after a meeting on this project.

The hub, which is scheduled to open in 2026, will include a bearing plant, casing pipe plant, river port on the Kama River, customs terminal, railway line, warehouses and a sorting center, the ministry said in a press release.

The mayor's office of Naberezhnye Chelny, which is located 50 km from Nizhnekamsk, said in August 2024 that TEMPO's hub outside Nizhnekamsk will produce and transship rolled metal products, as well as handle aggregates and containerized cargo, and receive and store cargo arriving by train, ship and truck.

TEMPO includes a plant that makes electrical equipment for heavy duty dump trucks, urban electric transport, Russian Railways, excavators and cranes; Technotron, which makes components for commercial vehicles and power supply systems for crane and electrical equipment; the Kama Metalwork Plant; Naberezhnye Chelny Pipe Plant; hardware maker Technotron-Metiz; Kama Metallurgical Works; TEMPO Trading House; and freight shipper TEMPO-Logistic, the group's website said.
