Armenian authorities say not planning early parliamentary elections

YEREVAN. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has denied media reports alleging plans to hold early parliamentary elections, which will lead to the election of a new prime minister.

"No, we are not planning early elections. We are not going to hold early elections," Pashinyan said in an interview with the Public Television Company of Armenia.

The next parliamentary elections are due in Armenia in 2026.

"There has always been talk about early elections. As to my activity on social media, I believe it stems from the need for transparency. It stems from democracy," Pashinyan said.
