Bulgaria boosts gas imports from Azerbaijan 50% in 11M, Georgia cuts them 18%
BAKU. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Turkey was still the biggest buyer of Azerbaijani gas in January-November 2024, accounting for 38.2% of all gas exported by Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan supplied Turkey with 8.997 billion cubic meters of gas, down 12.3% year-on-year, for $2.75 billion, down 21.5%, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.
Italy was the second biggest buyer of Azerbaijani gas with 38% of the total, Georgia was third with 12.6% and Bulgaria was fourth with 7.4%.
Gas supplies to Bulgaria rose in volume and value. Supplies to Italy, Turkey and Greece fell in volume and value.
Azerbaijan supplied gas to six countries in the period.

Azerbaijan has entered into gas supply contracts with 10 countries in Europe, including Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Northern Macedonia (memorandum), and Slovakia. Long-term contracts with fixed supply volumes have been signed with Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria, while contracts without fixed purchase volumes have been signed with the remaining countries.
Azerbaijan also exports gas to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), and South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), and to Georgia via the SCP and Gazimagomed-Gazakh pipeline.
