Azerbaijan cuts oil exports 9.4% in 2024; Italy purchases 46.4% - State Customs Committee
BAKU. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan cut exports of declared oil, stock-keeping unit 2709, 9.4% year-on-year to around 23.596 million tonnes in 2024, the country's State Customs Committee (SCC) said.
The overall value of exported oil declined 11.1% year-on-year to over $14.437 billion in the period. The share of oil in Azerbaijan's overall export structure rose to 54.37% from 47.91% in 2023.
The SCC said that 25 countries purchased Azerbaijani oil in the reporting period, with Vietnam joining the list of countries in December, and Italy remaining the main importer, accounting for 46.4% of supplies. The Czech Republic, Croatia, India, and Germany were also among the top five countries purchasing Azerbaijani oil.
