Aliyev, Scholz discuss Azerbaijani-German relations

BAKU. Jan 21 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Davos on January 21.

Scholz inquired about the progress in the investigation of the AZAL plane crash outside Aktau during the meeting, the Azerbaijani presidential press service said.

"During the conversation, they exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations, as well as the prospects for enhancing Azerbaijan's cooperation with the European Union. The sides also discussed other areas of mutual interest," the press service said.

Germany supports efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus, Scholz said.
