Ukraine's Agroprosperis, Poland's Grupa Azoty sign fertilizer supply contract

MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Grupa Azoty, one of Poland's largest chemical companies, and Ukraine's Agroprosperis Group signed a contract on the supply of NPK fertilizers, with the first delivery made in December 2024 and subsequent shipments scheduled for January 2025, Ukrainian media said, citing the group's press service said.

The Ukrainian market is one of the key markets for NPK fertilizer sales in Eastern Europe, the media said, citing the farmer.pl media outlet. One of the main industries in Ukraine is the agricultural sector, which accounts for 10.9% of the country's GDP. NPK fertilizers play a very important role in maximizing the efficiency of agricultural production, by increasing yields and offering agricultural products with the highest quality parameters.

Grupa Azoty offers a wide range of nitrogen megAN, nitrogen-sulphur saletrosan, ammonium sulfate macro and select and multi-nutrient fertilizers under brands including Polifoska 8 - NPK 8-24-24 (+9) and Polifoska 6 NPK 6-20-30(+7), which is especially recommended for sunflower, rape and sugar beet. Steps will be taken shortly to enrich these fertilizers with micronutrients, which will make it possible to expand their use and target a wider range of customers.

Agroprosperis Group offers a full range of goods and services for the cultivation of grain and oilseeds, for financing their production, as well as for their storage and subsequent export. Before the crisis, it cultivated 430,000 hectares in the Sumy, Chernigov, Kharkov, Poltava, Vinnitsa and Lvov regions. Its total storage capacity is 800,000 tonnes of crops. The holding previously produced and exported more than 2 million tonnes of grain and oilseeds per year.

Agroprosperis operates through its five divisions, which are Golden Sunrise (Agro), Bio Agro, Ray Agro, Latagro, and New Agro Management, as well as provides financing to Ukrainian grain producers via Agroprosperis Bank.
