Russian govt to support GAZ Group's vehicle assembly plant in Vietnam - PM Mishustin

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The Russian government will provide support to the plant assembling GAZ Group vehicles in Vietnam, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Thursday at a government meeting.

"The Russia-Vietnam joint venture assembling Russian GAZ vehicles in Da Nang will receive support," Mishustin said, without providing any details.

Mishustin said that Russia and Vietnam also have good opportunities to collaborate in the area of heavy engineering.

President Vladimir Putin during a visit to Vietnam last June noted growth in Russia-Vietnam cooperation in the automotive industry.

"Automotive assembly plants are gaining momentum. I mean GAZ in the city of Da Nang," he said.
