Belarus ready for closure by Poland of all crossings on shared border - Lukashenko
MINSK. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Belarus is ready for the possible closure by Poland of all crossings on the two countries' border, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko told journalists when commenting on the situation around border crossings and illegal migrants on the border with Poland.
"They can shut down all of them [border crossings], if they please. We don't go there, we don't sell anything there. Does MotoVeloZavod sell its products there? No, it doesn't. They have imposed sanctions on us. Okay, it's their choice," the BelTA state-run news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying during a visit to the Minsk City Technopark on Thursday.
"In this case, we do not have to fight against migration and people who want to live there and who go there. I have already said that a thousand times: why should I protect them now that they have slapped sanctions on my people? I won't do it!," he said.
