Belarus ramps up industrial output 5.4% in 2024 - Belstat

MINSK. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Belarus ramped up the volume of industrial production 5.4% year-on-year to 202.4 billion Belarusian rubles in monetary terms in 2024, the National Statistical Committee, Belstat, said.

As reported, industrial output rose 6.4% in 7M 2024 and 7.1% in H1 2024.

Specifically, mining increased 3.6% year-on-year; manufacturing rose 5.5% year-on-year; supplying electricity, gas, steam, and hot water grew 5.5% year-on-year; and supplying water and collecting and processing waste rose 0.2% year-on-year.

Industrial production increased 4.3% year-on-year and 4.8% month-on-month in December 2024.

Belarus boosted industrial output 7.7% in 2023 after it contracted 5.4% in 2022 and rose 6.5% in 2021.

The official exchange rate as on January 16, 2025, is 3.4741 Belarusian rubles/$1.
