Kyrgyz FM to visit Russia on Jan 22 - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The Kyrgyz foreign minister will visit Russia on January 22 for talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"Talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the foreign minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, who will be paying an official visit to our country, are scheduled for January 22 in Moscow. At the meeting, the foreign ministers of Russia and Kyrgyzstan will discuss current aspects of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other fields. They are due to exchange views on Eurasian integration, global and regional security, coordination of steps at international venues and, particularly, interaction in the CSTO, considering that Kyrgyzstan presides in the organization this year," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Thursday.

It is planned to sign a program of cooperation between the Russian and Kyrgyz foreign ministries for 2025-2027, she said.

The next meeting of the Government Commission on the Affairs of Compatriots Residing Abroad is planned for January 20, and Lavrov will chair a meeting of the Trustee Board for the Protection of Rights of Compatriots Residing Abroad on January 23, Zakharova said.
