Russian Export Center registers requests from Vietnam for supplies of aluminum products, building materials, timber industry products
HANOI. Jan 15 (Interfax) - Russian non-commodity, non-energy exports to Vietnam could expand by supplying products from the wood-processing and aluminum industries as well as construction materials, and corresponding requests have been registered by the Russian Export Center (REC) from Vietnamese partners.
"There is some growth [in exports to Vietnam], but we still see a cautious approach from our Vietnamese partners regarding long-term cooperation. This cautious attitude is now starting to warm slightly, and we are indeed seeing significant interest from major distributors in contracting. Memorandums have been signed on supplying meat products during the Russian delegation's visit. There is demand for Russian aluminum products, construction materials, ash wood products in large volumes, and significant interest in IT segment products," head of the REC Veronika Nikishina told journalists during Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin's visit to Hanoi.
"Russian goods from both the agro-industrial and industrial sectors are already in high demand in the Vietnamese market in the B2B sector, and most importantly in the B2C segment. However, we see that our potential for cooperation is much greater than the figures we currently see in the statistics. We hope that Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin's visit and our delegation's efforts will give a substantial boost to cooperation. First, we plan to develop partnerships with major Vietnamese distributors to purchase Russian agricultural products for retail distribution. We are looking for major Vietnamese distributors to purchase Russian industrial products. We also have significant plans to develop B2C trade through e-commerce," Nikishina said when commenting on the areas of trade cooperation.
