Russia ready to facilitate Vietnam's accession to BRICS as partner state - communique

HANOI. Jan 15 (Interfax) - Russia has pledged to facilitate Vietnam's cooperation with BRICS as a partner state.

"The Russian side hailed the active participation of Vietnam in BRICS events in 2024 and expressed the readiness to facilitate its accession to the group as a partner state," a joint communique signed at the end of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin's visit to Hanoi said.

The communique also said that the sides rejected "unilateral restrictive measures, as well as attempted interference in internal affairs of sovereign states, protectionism and extraterritorial use of national legislation in violation of norms and principles of international law, including the UN Charter."
