Transmashholding looking into Vietnamese market for potential business

HANOI. Jan 14 (Interfax) - Transmashholding (TMH) is looking into the Vietnamese market for potential business, TMH CEO Kirill Lipa told reporters.

Lipa said that TMH does not have any projects in Vietnam to date. Vietnam also has plans to build a second metro line.

"Vietnam is generally one of the countries where we would like to have some kind of presence. We will see what projects we could do. In addition to supplying rolling stock, we could modernize, repair, and supply some equipment for the needs of railways and signaling systems, namely traffic management. We do not have any business here to date, though we are generally trying to do something in the Asian region, in India, in China," Lipa said.

Transmashholding is Russia's largest developer and manufacturer of modern multi-car railway rolling stock. The company's headquarters are in Moscow, and it has international divisions in Egypt, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. The holding structure includes 10 production and assembly sites in Russia and 30 other countries worldwide.
