Russia intends to expand certification of domestic agro enterprises for supplies to Vietnam - minister
HANOI. Jan 14 (Interfax) - The matter to certify agricultural producers from Russia in order to boost supplies of agricultural products to Vietnam was the subject of Russia-Vietnam negotiations during Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin's visit to the country.
"Much has already been done, first of all, on the supply of agricultural products to the Vietnamese market. We now need to expand the certification of Russian agricultural producers, which is what we talked about today. Overall, the Vietnamese economy is growing, consumption is increasing, and the standard of people's living is rising, so this creates demand for our goods," Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said regarding the results of the negotiations.
"There are certain veterinary restrictions. Therefore, each enterprise must in fact be certified in one way or another, so that the relevant Vietnamese services can also confirm. This is work that is being done between the regulators of the two countries," Reshetnikov said.
Reshetnikov said that the Russia-Vietnam negotiations also touched upon the matters of continuing collaboration in the oil and gas sector and expanding supplies of engineering products.
He noted that, "There has been some progress here" regarding cooperation in engineering, particularly saying that Avtovaz is planning to enter the Vietnamese market.
"GAZ is successfully operating here, as are a number of other enterprises. It is important that they further increase localization and boost supplies," Reshetnikov said, adding that the Vietnamese government's requirements for raising the level of localization of production are similar to those that Russia imposes on manufacturers.
"We must resolve matters with payments and a number of complicated situations, which we also discussed here, in order for them [automakers] to invest," Reshetnikov said.
