Moscow court fines Google over 8 bln rubles

MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax) - Moscow's Chertanovsky District Court has fined Google over 8 billion rubles for dodging an administrative penalty, the court press service told Interfax on Tuesday.

"An administrative fine of 8,008,684,193 rubles and 68 kopecks has been imposed on Google LLC," the press service said.

The company was found guilty of dodging an administrative penalty and given an administrative fine, which twice exceeds the amount of the administrative fine it failed to pay earlier.

The court did not say what fine it was. In 2023, Google was twice fined over 4 billion rubles for failing the timely payment of the revenue-based fine by an anti-monopoly motion of the Russian Federal Anti-Monopoly Service and the systematic failure to remove restricted information.
