Kyrgyzstan planning Eurobond issue with Citibank
BISHKEK. Jan 13 (Interfax) - Kyrgyzstan is planning to issue Eurobonds to finance infrastructure projects, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev said on the sidelines of the Asian Financial Forum in Hong Kong.
Kasymaliev met with the head of Citibank's international division, Ernesto Torres Cantu, to discuss expanding cooperation, the government press service said.
Kasymaliev confirmed the importance of a partnership with the bank, noting its role as the lead coordinator and bookrunner for Kyrgyzstan's upcoming Eurobond issuance.
Cooperation between Citibank and the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan intensified in 2024, and Kyrgyz commercial banks are interested in establishing correspondent relationships with Citibank, he said.
