Ukraine fully implements 2024 state budget - PM
MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal held a government meeting at the end of the year to review the implementation of the 2024 state budget and key indicators of the country's economic and social development.
"Had a meeting attended by [officials from] the Finance Ministry, the Economy Ministry, the National Bank of Ukraine, the State Treasury, the State Customs Service, and the State Tax Service to review the implementation of the state budget and key indicators of economic and social development. We're concluding the year with confidence. The 2024 state budget has been implemented. All priority expenditures have been financed, and we've met all of our social commitments," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account.
According to State Treasury reports, all bills submitted were paid, with the balance on the single treasury account exceeding UAH 100 billion and foreign currency accounts over UAH 163 billion, he said.
"As the Finance Ministry reports, around UAH 2.2 trillion in taxes, duties, and mandatory payments came to the state budget's general fund. A total of over UAH 3.1 trillion came to the general and special funds," Shmygal said.
The meeting participants also discussed regularity of foreign financial support, he said.
"The government attracted $41.7 billion in foreign financing in 2024, of which one-third ($12.6 billion) are non-refundable grants. The European Union, the United States, the International Monetary Fund, Japan, the World Bank, Canada, and the United Kingdom were Ukraine's largest donors. As much as $9.3 billion was attracted in December alone," Shmygal said.
