Ukraine received $41.7 bln in external budget financing in 2024 - minister

MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine received $41.7 billion in external financing to cover a budget deficit in 2024, Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said.

"This enabled us to fully finance pensions, wages in the education and healthcare sectors, and the entire humanitarian and social support system," Ukrainian media quoted Marchenko as saying in televised remarks.

Ukraine is to disburse a total of UAH 2.2 trillion (an equivalent of $52.5 billion, or 26% of GDP) for security and defense needs in 2024 and 2025, he said.
