Russia's Sberbank launches QR Code payment service in Tajikistan

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Sberbank has launched a QR code payment service for Russian tourists in Tajikistan, the lending institution said.

The functionality of the service will become widely available in 2025.

Scanning the QR code in the Sberbank app is required to pay.

Rendering payments in this manner should be available at over 50,000 retail and service points throughout Tajikistan, including most of the shops and restaurants that are popular with tourists.

Sberbank plans in 2025 to replicate the technology in other countries that have QR t goods and services.
