Belarus's 1AK-Group wants to build 2 bln ruble facility for producing battery components in Bashkortostan

UFA. Dec 26 (Interfax) - The 1AK-Group (Belarus) has become a resident of the Alga special economic zone in Bashkortostan, the Corporation for the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan's press service said.

"The new resident plans to build a factory for producing separators for battery manufacturing. The project is estimated to cost 2.1 billion rubles. The plant is expected to create 80 new jobs," it said.

It is expected that the new production facility will be located at the special economic zone's third site in the Sterlitamak district. The production complex will cover an area of approximately 10,000 square meters. Launch of production is scheduled for 2026.

According to the Belarusian holding company, which focuses on the production and distribution of batteries, the group includes Belinvestorg-Splav, which produces branded lead from battery waste, Zubr Energy LLC, which makes starter batteries, Accumulator Alliance, which produces a full range of maintenance-free lead-acid starter batteries for cars, trucks, buses and agricultural vehicles, Aktiv OMZ, a scientific and production center for energy storage systems based on Li-Ion batteries, Belinvestorg and Ozbetteriz.

The holding's structure includes the transportation company BelPAM and other projects not directly related to the battery business.
