Kiev decides that senior law enforcement officers should have English language skills

MOSCOW. Dec 24 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has endorsed a list of law enforcement positions, applicants for which are required to speak English.

The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Tuesday, Ukrainian media reported, citing government's envoy to the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk.

In particular, under the law on the use of the English language in Ukraine, a list of positions of middle and top police officers of the National Police, positions of senior officers of other law enforcement agencies, positions of top officers of the civil defense service, applicants for which are required to have English language skills, has been adopted.

The list will take effect four years after martial law is terminated or lifted in Ukraine.
