Russian economy's needs for human resources to exceed 3 mln by 2030 - Deputy PM Golikova

MOSCOW. Dec 23 (Interfax) - The Russian government has adjusted a forecast for the domestic economy's additional needs in personnel until 2030, which will reach 3.1 million, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.

"For the first time this year, we have worked jointly with our colleagues from federal executive authorities on the upper-level assessment of the forecast for the Russian economy's demand for personnel until 2030," Golikova said at a meeting of the organizing committee of the Best in Profession nationwide professional skills competition on Monday.

"Let me remind you that the figure was 2.4 million people. After the survey of employers was conducted and after the forecast for socioeconomic development was modified, the figure of the demand has been adjusted, and it is currently 3.1 million people," she added.

As previously reported, the Labor Ministry estimated the labor market's demand for personnel until 2030 at least 2.4 million people. The situation is complicated by the long-term demographic trend, Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov said. The number of people aged between 30 and 39 will drop by eight million by 2030, while the increase in the population aged between 15 and 24 will reach three million, he said.
