Telegram generates revenue exceeding $1 bln in 2024, turns profit for first time - founder Durov
MOSCOW. Dec 23 (Interfax) - Telegram generated revenue exceeding $1 billion in 2024, Pavel Durov, the messaging service's founder, said.
"It has been a very successful year for Telegram in 2024. Telegram has turned a profit for the first time in three years of being monetized," Durov posted on his Telegram channel.
Durov also said that the company's cash reserves total over $500 million at the end of 2024, excluding crypto assets.
The number of Telegram Premium subscribers increased threefold to over 12 million in 2024, and advertising revenue "increased several times over".
Durov also said that Telegram has placed debt obligations totaling around $2 billion over the past four years, with a significant part having been repaid in autumn 2024.
