Quota for wheat exports from Russia will be 10.6 mln tonnes from Feb 15 to June 30, 2025 - govt resolution

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The tariff quota for wheat exports from Russia will be 10.6 million tonnes from February 15 to June 30, 2025, the government press service said.

The approved quota volume is slightly lower than the customs subcommittee's decision of 11 million tonnes approved at the end of November.

"The quota volume for wheat and meslin exports will be 10.6 million tonnes, while the quota volume for barley, rye, and corn will be zero tonnes according to the signed resolution. The decision was reached accounting for the forecast balance of production and consumption of grain crops on the domestic market," the press service said.

The quota does not apply to deliveries to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.

The quota additionally does not limit exports of grain to provide international humanitarian aid to other countries as based on government decisions.

The government press service also said that the Agriculture Ministry would distribute the quota among the participants in foreign trade activities.

"The process to set quotas for grain exports allows maintaining an optimal balance between the domestic market and exports of the products. Grain exports are subject to a floating duty within the quota depending on the price situation," the report says.

The tariff rate will be 50% outside the quota, though not less than 100 euros per tonne, the customs subcommittee said earlier.
