MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - Ukraine has already formed a supply of nearly 202,000 cubic meters of firewood for the population's needs, Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Minister Svetlana Grinchuk said.

"The Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ministry is a key player in the heating season, especially as regards the stocks of timber, of firewood that we are forming to allow the population to have this resource to get through the heating season. Besides, we see what is happening in the energy sector [...]. We, for our part, do our best to provide Ukrainians with an additional resource, such as firewood, and we already have 202,000 cubic meters of firewood at our warehouses. The average price of such firewood in our country is around UAH 1,000 per cubic meter," Ukrainian media quoted Grinchuk as saying in an interview with the We-Ukraine media outlet.

The DrovaE electronic platform, "which has proven to be quite efficient", has been functioning for several years to allow Ukrainians to buy firewood in their region in a convenient and legal way, she said.
