Russia's current 9.2%-9.3% inflation sends alarming signal, yet stabilized by growing incomes - Putin
MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - The current 9.2%-9.3% inflation in Russia sends an alarming signal to the economy, yet the situation in general remains stable, considering the growth in real incomes of the population, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his Q&A session combined with the end-of-year press conference.
"Of course, inflation sends an alarming signal. As I was preparing for today's event yesterday, I spoke with the Central Bank chair, and Elvira [Nabiullina] told me it had reached around 9.3%, 9.2%-9.3%. Still, real salaries have grown 9%, please note these are real salaries, minus inflation, and disposable incomes of the population have also grown. So, overall, the situation is stable and reliable," Putin said.
