Russian Deputy PM Manturov to oversee matters to develop individual high-tech areas

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved amendments to the distribution of authority among the deputy prime ministers to oversee matters to develop individual high-tech areas and implement the relevant agreements of intent between the Cabinet of Ministers and business representatives, the government's press service said.

The updated distribution of authority indicates that First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov will be responsible for the overall coordination to develop matters in individual high-tech areas. Moreover, Manturov will oversee the Advanced Space Systems and Services area in addition to the Technologies of New Materials and Substances area.

Deputy Prime Minister and Government Chief of Staff Dmitry Grigorenko will oversee the development of the Artificial Intelligence, Modern and Future Mobile Networks, Quantum Computing, Quantum Communications, New Industrial Software, and New General System Software areas.

"Developing the high-tech areas will allow creating new production facilities and manufacturing products and producing services that should substantially improve the quality of people's lives. Projects that utilize cross-cutting technologies are being implemented as part of agreements of intent between the government and interested business entities," the press service said.
