Air Arabia to launch flights from Sharjah, UAE to Sochi, Russia in June 2025

KRASNODAR. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Air Arabia plans to launch direct flights on the Sharjah, United Arab Emirates-Sochi, Russia route starting on June 27, 2025, Sochi Airport's press service said.

Flights will operate three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on narrow-body Airbus A320 aircraft, with travel time just under four hours.

Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali said in the statement that the launch of the new route would expand the airline's presence in Russia, as well as support growth in tourism and economic relations between the countries.

Air Arabia has not previously operated flights to Sochi.

Sochi Airport's data indicate that air traffic between the UAE and Sochi is developing actively, with passenger traffic on the route rising 29% year-on-year to 83,500 travelers in 11M 2024.

Sochi is currently the sole operating airport in the Krasnodar Territory. The Anapa, Gelendzhik, and Krasnodar airports, respectively, as well as airports in several other regions in southern Russia have not been operating for safety reasons since February 2022.

Sochi Airport is part of the Aerodinamika Group along with the Krasnodar and Anapa airports. Sochi Airport boosted passenger traffic 7.6% year-on-year to 13.913 million travelers in 2023.
