Exports of fish, seafood from Russia's Primorye to China decline 24% in 11M - federal fisheries agency
VLADIVOSTOK. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency (Rosrybolovstvo) cleared 474,100 tonnes of fish and seafood for export from the Primorsk Territory to China in January-November 2024, including 19,188 tonnes specifically in November, Rosrybolovstvo's Primorsk territorial administration said.
The territorial administration's materials indicate that Rosrybolovstvo cleared 622,400 tonnes of fish products for export to China in 11M 2023, implying a drop of 23.8% year-on-year.
Rosrybolovstvo cleared 344,590 tonnes of pollock [72.7% of the overall volume of fish products], 69,129 tonnes of herring, 34,765 tonnes of crabs, and 24,469 tonnes of Pacific salmon (pink salmon, chum salmon, sockeye salmon) for export.
All types of Pacific salmon, pollock, sea bass, arrow-toothed halibut, Pacific halibut, Greenland halibut, Pacific herring, eight types of crab, inflated ark, corbicula (Asian clam), trepang (sea cucumber), thornback (thorny-head), and sea urchin, as well as products made from them, are subject to inspection for legality of origin (IUU fishing certification) for export to China.
