Former Danish FM heads Ukrenergo Supervisory Board
MOSCOW. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Former Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod has been elected head of the Ukrenergo Supervisory Board, Ukrainian media said, citing a company statement on a social network.
"Independent representative Jeppe Kofod has become the Supervisory Board chairman, and government representative Anatoly Gulei will be his deputy," Ukrenergo said.
The Supervisory Board held its first meeting on December 12. It set up audit, remuneration, investment and strategy committees and appointed their heads.
The Ukrenergo Supervisory Board has seven members, among them four independents elected in competition and three government representatives. Independent members of the Supervisory Board confirmed by a Ukrainian g0vernment order on November 26, 2024, are Patrick Graichen who served as state secretary at the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action in 2021-2023, Luigi de Francisci, former top manager of TERNA and Enel (already a member of the Ukrenergo Supervisory Board), Jeppe Kofod, former Danish foreign minister, and Jan Montell with a top management experience, member of the Board of Directors in a number of Finnish energy companies.
Government representatives confirmed by a government order of December 10, 2024, include Yury Boiko who served as the Ukrainian energy minister in 2020-2021, is now an advisor to the prime minister, and a member of the previous Ukrenergo Supervisory Board, Alexei Nikitin, who formerly served as the head of the Ukrenergo electricity market department and the director of the Ukrhydroenergo department of commerce, and Anatoly Gulei, who built a career in banking, headed the boards of Oschadbank and Aktiv Bank, was a deputy head of the Alfa-Bank board, and is a shareholder of Akordbank.
