Son of fmr Kazakh emergencies minister appointed as head of KazMunayGas petrochemical subsidiary
ASTANA. Dec 12 (Interfax) - Igor Ilyin has been appointed as the chairman of the management board at KMG PetroChem, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company KazMunayGas (KMG), the KMG press service said.
Ilyin, 33, earlier worked as CEO at Karabatan Utility Solutions LLP and held managerial positions at CAEPCO JSC, Samruk-Energy JSC and Research Center of the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas LLP.
He is the son of the former minister of emergency situations, Yury Ilyin, who was dismissed from his post in June 2023 after widespread fires in the Abay region.
KMG PetroChem LLP (formerly KLPE LLP) is wholly owned by KMG. The company implements and coordinates petrochemical projects within KMG Group. KMG PetroChem is designing a polyethylene plant and a gas separation complex and developing a number of other petrochemical projects.
