Ukraine exports over 73 mln tonnes of cargo by sea this year - deputy restoration minister
MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - Some 73.4 million tonnes of cargo were exported through the maritime corridor unilaterally declared by Kiev in January-November 2024, Ukrainian media said, citing Ukrainian Deputy Restoration Minister Timur Tkachenko's post on a social network.
Exports have totaled 85 million tonnes since the maritime corridor opened in September 2023, he said.
The overall amount of cargo transshipped at Ukrainian ports stood at 91.1 million tonnes in January-November 2023, versus 52.8 million tonnes in the respective period of 2023.
As reported, most of the transshipped goods were grains. Ports transshipped 56.1 million tonnes of grain in eleven months of this year, versus 39.4 million tonnes last year. Transshipment of ores grew to 16.7 million tonnes, versus 3.2 million tonnes in 2023.
Ukrainian seaports transshipped 7.6 million tonnes of cargo in November 2024, versus 6.7 million tonnes in November 2023.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority said earlier that cargo turnover at Ukrainian ports grew to 86.8 million tonnes between January 1 and November 17, 2024, including 53.5 million tonnes of grain.
Some 64.4 million tonnes of cargo, including 43.5 million tonnes of grain, were transported in the first year of the maritime corridor's operation, the report said. As many as 2,379 ships passed through the corridor to carry products to 46 states.
