Kiev approves agreement with Romania on building bridge over Tisa River at border

MOSCOW. Dec 10 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved an intergovernmental agreement with Romania on building a motor bridge over the Tisa River at the border.

The government made the decision at a meeting on Tuesday, Ukrainian media said, citing Government Representative to the Parliament Taras Melnichuk.

The agreement on building a motor bridge over the Tisa River at the Ukrainian-Romanian border to connect Belaya Tserkov in Ukraine and Sighetu Marmatiei in Romania was signed in Kiev on October 18, 2023.

Head of the Ukrainian State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure Sergei Sukhomlin said earlier that the Belaya Tserkov-Sighetu Marmatiei checkpoint would open at the border with Romania in 2025.

The checkpoint, which will allow trucks to cross the border, will operate temporary infrastructure (trailers), he said.

The Belaya Tserkov- Sighetu Marmatiei checkpoint will be the ninth checkpoint at the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
