Ruslan Alisultanov becomes new owner of company controlling Danone's former Russian assets
MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Ruslan Alisultanov has become the owner of Yunimilk LLC (formerly Vamin-Tatarstan), which controls Health and Nutrition (H&N), the company that consolidates Danone's former Russian assets.
Yunimilk controls H&N via Vamin R.
The corresponding changes were made to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities on December 6, 2024. Alisultanov previously owned 1% of the company.
"H&N confirms that Ruslan Alisultanov now owns 100% of Vamin-Tatarstan, which was renamed Yunimilk just prior to the deal. The company indirectly controls the H&N group of companies," H&N's press service told Interfax.
"These changes will not affect the business of either group. H&N and Vamin were previously managed autonomously; their operations were not integrated and did not overlap. Therefore, as regards H&N's business, we can confirm that it is developing confidently and is increasing production, revenue and investment. The company has major plans for development and expanding its range and production levels," the press service said.
Alisultanov is a member of H&N's board of directors, and previously served as Chechnya's deputy agriculture minister.
As reported, the French company Danone completed a deal to sell its Russian business to Vamin R (Tatarstan) in May 2024. Vamin R LLC was registered on September 25, 2023. At the time, Vamin Tatarstan owned 99% of the company and Ruslan Alisultanov owned 1%. Mintimer Mingazov was the beneficiary.
Danone announced that it was leaving Russia in 2022. Its Russian assets were transferred to state management in July 2023 in line with a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Danone Russia LLC and Danone Trade LLC were renamed H&N and H&N Trade, respectively. The Russian president signed a decree in March canceling the transfer of both companies to the temporary management of the Russian Federal Property Agency (Rosimushchestvo). Following this, the deal with Vamin R was completed.
The company consolidates 12 plants.
