Ukrainian agrifood exports down 6.5% month-on-month in Nov
MOSCOW. Dec 3 (Interfax) - Ukraine exported 6.2 million tonnes of agricultural produce in November, which is 6.5% less than it did in October, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club.
Ukraine increased exports of grain crops by 3% in November, in which corn accounted for 63%, wheat 33%, and barley 4%, it said.
At the same time, exports of Ukrainian oilseed crops (58% of soybeans and 41% of rapeseed) went down by 32% to 800,000 tonnes, vegetable oils (89% of sunflower oil, 9% soybean oil, and 2% rapeseed oil) down by 8% to 541,200 tonnes, press cake (78% sunflower and 12% rapeseed) down by 19% to 383,300 tonnes, and other types of agricultural produce down by 5% to 398,500 tonnes.
"Growth has been recorded only for grains, while all other categories have manifested a decline. The most considerable decline has been recorded for oilseed crops, whose exports shrank by one-third. The main reason is slowing rapeseed exports, as the lion's share of it has already been exported," it said.
