Russian govt proposes extending right to hold shareholder meetings in absentee format for 2025 - source

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - The Russian government has prepared amendments to extend the right for companies to hold annual general meetings of shareholders and participants in an absentee format through 2025, a source familiar with the matter told Interfax.

The corresponding amendments are proposed for inclusion in law no.25-FZ, which concerns amendments to the federal law on joint-stock companies and suspending certain provisions of Russian legislative acts.

The changes are to be introduced as amendments to the second reading of bill no.722148-8, the source said. The government discussed these proposals during a meeting on Thursday.
