LPG, condensate terminal for 9.7 mln tpy to be built in Sabetta for Tambeiskoye gas project

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - There are plans to build a terminal to handle 9.7 million tonnes of condensate and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at the Port of Sabetta in the northern part of the Yamal Peninsula as part of the development of the Tambeiskoye field.

The Russian government issued an order (No. 3432-r) on November 27 to make this change to the country's land-use planning scheme in the area of federal transport and the document was published on the official website for legal information.

"Sabetta seaport, construction of a terminal for transhipment of liquefied petroleum gas and stable gas condensate with capacity of 9.7 million tonnes per year as part of the infrastructure development for cretaceous deposits of the Tambeiskoye field (Yamalsky district, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District)," the document states.

The Tambeiskoye gas condensate field is located within three licensed areas: Zapadno-Tambeisky, Severo-Tambeisky and Tasiysky. The operator of the project is Gazprom subsidiary Gazprom Dobycha Tambei.

Hearings on the design documentation for future Tambeiskoye field infrastructure were held in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District in November. They discussed the design documentation for the facilities of the marine terminal and for the construction of a temporary energy center, among other things, the company reported.

Russia's land-use planning scheme is a mandatory condition for the development of strategy projects of the Russian economy. Information on the location of future facilities of federal importance, as well as the regions and municipalities where their design and construction are planned, is consolidated in the Economic Development Ministry's FGIS TP online geoinformation resource. A project's inclusion in the scheme is the starting point for determining the basic layout, after which it is possible to begin the paperwork on land for engineering surveys and land rights. The mechanism makes it possible to simplify registration of rights to land for surveys by establishing a public easement in the name of the investor instead of having to deal with the costly and lengthy process of arranging a lease.
