Russia, Kazakhstan to continue joint space exploration - statement

MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Baikonur Cosmodrome is a common heritage of mankind, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said. They promised to continue joint space exploration.

"The sides reaffirm their common position on the unique technological, research and historical significance of Baikonur Cosmodrome, whose 70th anniversary will be broadly celebrated next year. The facility is a common heritage of mankind," the presidents said in a joint statement issued after the talks in Astana. The document was published on the Kremlin website.

"The work on joint exploration of space, experimental research, and development of telecommunication technologies will continue," it said.
