Georgian Dream nominates MP Kavelashvili for president
TBILISI. Nov 27 (Interfax) - The Georgian Dream ruling party has nominated parliament member Mikheil Kavelashvili for president.
"We nominate Mikheil Kavelashvili for president," Georgian Dream Honorary Chairman Bidzina Ivanishvili said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
An electoral college comprising all parliament deputies, representatives of the supreme councils of Ajaria and Abkhazia, and heads of local administrations will elect the Georgian president on December 14.
According to opposition leaders, the opposition will take no part in the presidential election, as it considers the incumbent Georgian authorities to be illegitimate.
