Armenia still suspends participation in CSTO activity, PM not to attend summit in Astana - press secretary
YEREVAN. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will not attend a summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Astana on November 28, and Armenia's stance regarding the CSTO is unaltered, Pashinyan's press secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan said.
"The Armenian prime minister will take no part in the CSTO summit. Armenia's stance on suspending its participation in the CSTO activity is unaltered," Baghdasaryan told Armenian media.
Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told the press on Tuesday that Armenia would not attend the summit, yet its representatives said earlier they did not object to adopting coordinated documents at the summit.
He added that Yerevan de jure remained a full CSTO member with respective rights and duties.
"The door is open to Armenia's physical return to work at the CSTO, and we hope that Armenian representatives will resume their cooperation in this organization sooner or later," Ushakov said.
