Eurasian Development Bank forecasts Tajikistan's inflation to accelerate to 3.9% in 2024

DUSHANBE. Nov 25 (Interfax) - The Eurasian Development Bank forecasts inflation to accelerate to 3.9% in Tajikistan in 2024, the bank said in its weekly macro overview.

The EDB said that the country's annual inflation accelerated to 3.6% in October from 3.1% in September.

The pace of growth in consumer prices has quickened owing to strong domestic demand. Moreover, there was a decline of 0.3% month-on-month in prices in October last year, which was an anomaly for the autumn months, the bank said in the overview.

"We expect inflation to be 3.9% year-on-year in 2024, close to the lower limit of the National Bank's target range of 6% +/- 2%," the EDB said.

Inflation decelerated to 3.8% in 2023 from 4.2% in 2022.
