Yakovlev CEO Boginsky, Tupolev managing director Timofeyev stepping down

MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - PJSC Yakovlev CEO Andrei Boginsky and JSC Tupolev managing director Konstantin Timofeyev are leaving these positions, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) reported.

The management functions of Yakovlev will be carried out by the CEO of UAC, Vadim Badekha, who will combine leadership roles in both companies.

The management of Tupolev will be handled by Alexander Bobryshev, Deputy CEO of UAC for state defense orders and managing tactical aviation programs. He will also take on the position of managing director of Tupolev. Previously, from 2009 to 2013, Bobryshev led the company. This will "enhance the parent company's oversight of strategic aviation programs," UAC said.

These decisions were made as part of consolidating management of civilian programs, UAC said. "Transferring management to the UAC head office level will enable the corporation to concentrate all resources on specific tasks, including the timely certification and launch of serial production for the domestic civilian airliner lineup," it said.

UAC's CEO was replaced at the beginning of November, when Vadim Badekha took over the position from Yuri Slyusar. Previously, Badekha led another Rostec structure, JSC United Engine Corporation (UEC).

Yakovlev integrates the production center of the same name in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Irkutsk Aviation Plant and and the companies Aerocomposite, Rapart, and RATA. It produces Yak-152 training aircraft and is working on the development of the MS-21 passenger jet and an import-substituted version of the Superjet 100.

Tupolev specializes in the design, production, and post-sales support of missile carriers and special-purpose aircraft. It is the flagship enterprise of UAC's Strategic and Special Aviation Division. Tupolev's branch, the S.P. Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant, manufactures Tu-214 passenger aircraft.
