Bad weather disrupts power supply in 325 communities in Ukraine - grid operator
MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax) - Adverse weather, including rain, wet snow, glaze, and strong wind, caused power supply disruptions in 325 communities in the Cherkassy, Chernigov, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Kirovograd, Poltava, and Sumy regions of Ukraine, as well as in the Kiev-controlled parts of the Donetsk and Kherson regions, on Friday morning, Ukrainian media reported citing the national power grid operator Ukrenergo's statement on its social account.
As of 5:00 a.m. on Friday, power consumption nationwide was approximately the same as on Thursday, while the consumption peak recorded on Thursday morning had been 4.5% lower than on Wednesday, which Ukrenergo attributed to more extensive power supply limitations, which were also applied in all regions from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday.
Ukraine increased commercial imports of electricity by nearly 14% to 7,408 MW/h on Friday compared to Thursday, it said.
